Prof. Yusufu Zoaka
Professor Zoaka is a University Don with over 29 years of experience in teaching, research, and community service at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Faculty of Social Science, University of Abuja. He is a widely published scholar with over 30 journal articles and four textbooks to his credit.
In terms of academic supervision, Professor Zoaka has successfully supervised over 25 doctoral students, 60 master’s degree holders, and numerous first-degree holders. He has also assessed over fifteen colleagues from other universities for promotion to the rank of Associate Professors and Full Professors in the field of Political Science in Nigeria.

In terms of administrative roles, Professor Zoaka has held various positions such as Head of Department, Deputy Dean of Students Affairs, Dean of Students Affairs, and Dean of the Faculty of Social Science. He has also served as Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program, Examination Officer, and Level Coordinator in the Department of Political Science and International Relations.
Professor Zoaka has facilitated bilateral relationships with international organizations to support the development of youths and students. He has been a member of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) of TetFund and serves on the Academic Advisory Board of the National Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in Abuja.
Additionally, Professor Zoaka has been involved in international collaborations, serving as a facilitator for the signing of memoranda of understanding between the University of Abuja and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland. He has also participated in study tours and conferences in countries such as China, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Ghana, and others.
Professor Zoaka has served as an External Examiner for various institutions and is a member of several professional associations including the Nigerian Political Science Association (NPSA), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), and the Social Science Academy of Nigeria. His research and teaching interests encompass Democracy, Diplomacy, Development Studies, Local Government Administration, Security and peace Studies.
